StopWaste Recycling and Waste Reduction Loans

StopWaste.Org has partnered with SAFE-BIDCO to offer loan funding for recycling based businesses. StopWaste is the Alameda County Waste Management Authority and the Alameda County Source Reduction and Recycling Board operating as one public agency. StopWaste is a public agency that help cities, business, schools and residents in Alameda County, CA reduce waste through source reduction and recycling, market development, technical assistance and public education. The StopWaste Revolving Loan Fund provides low interest loans for businesses and non-profits that utilize recycled, composted or reused materials. Designed to support the growth of a robust reuse and recycling-based economy, these low interest loans provide flexible financing options.

Eligibility: Must divert waste from Alameda County landfills, located in or relocating to Alameda County, Ca (or operating from neighboring county)
Loan Amounts: $10,000 – $300,000 ( Larger loans may be considered on a case by case basis)
Loan Term: 5 years (with longer amortization periods as appropriate)
Use of Funds: Working capital, machinery and equipment, inventory, expansion
Interest Rate: Rates range from WSJ Prime to WSJ Prime + 6% (Interest rate based on risk, risk will be determined by creditworthiness)
Equity Injection: Minimum of 10% cash of amount to be borrowed
Guarantees: Joint and several personal guarantees from all company owners with >20% ownership
Loan Fees: $200 application fee, 2% loan fee at closing.

Instructions for submission: Once eligibility form is complete; save the eligibility form to your hard drive, create a new email addressed to , attach completed form to the email and click send.
